Australian instructors train Ukrainian defenders in UK

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

“Ukrainian service members are undergoing intensive combat training under the guidance of Australian Army instructors as part of Operation KUDU – a component of the multinational training operation INTERFLEX on the territory of Great Britain. During the section commander combat training course, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are practising section-level assault actions, position holding, sector control, and fire coordination within trench systems,” the post says.

As noted, the training program is aimed at improving the coordination of small units, endurance, combat effectiveness, and the leadership qualities of squad commanders. These skills are critically important for conducting modern combat operations on the front lines.

The General Staff noted that since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, Australia has provided Ukraine with military and humanitarian aid totaling over $1.7 billion, of which more than $1.5 billion is military aid.

As reported by Ukrinform, more than 60,000 Ukrainian servicemen have undergone training in the UK as part of the Interflex training program.
