Ukraine’s USFs destroy Russian Buk-M1 air defense system in Zaporizhzhia region
According to Ukrinform, the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi (call sign “Madyar”), reported this on Telegram and released a video of the combat operation.
“The night was intense. UAVs of the Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed a Buk-M1 air defense system overnight on March 10, 2026, along with several other military targets,” Brovdi said.
He explained that the Buk-M1 is a self-propelled air defense missile system designed to engage maneuvering aerodynamic targets, including cruise missiles, glide bombs, aircraft, helicopters, and drones, at low and medium altitudes ranging from 30 to 18,000 meters under conditions of intense electronic countermeasures. The system was detected and destroyed in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.
“Other targets highlighted in the video were struck by UAVs of the Unmanned Systems Forces last night in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea, Donetsk region, and Zaporizhzhia region,” he added.
Brovdi noted that the operation was carried out by pilots of the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces using Ukrainian-made FP‑2 strike drones with a 60–100 kg warhead. Coordination was provided by the newly established Deep Strike Coordination Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
Earlier, as reported by Ukrinform, pilots of the 414th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade “Madyar’s Birds” destroyed a Podlet radar system in temporarily occupied Crimea and a launcher of the Buk‑M2 surface‑to‑air missile system used by Russian forces in the occupied part of the Donetsk region on the night of March 8.
