Ukrainian border guards destroy nearly 70 Russian drones over past day
The service reported this in a statement seen by Ukrinform.
Personnel from the 5th Border Detachment destroyed 29 enemy UAVs, including one Gerbera, two Molniyas and 26 FPV drones, 14 of which were controlled via fiber-optic cables.
At the same time, troops from the Steel Border Brigade in the Sumy region downed another six Molniya drones and 27 FPV drones.
In the Kharkiv region, mobile fire groups of the 4th Border Detachment destroyed eight Gerberas, while troops from the Forpost Brigade shot down two more.
In southern Ukraine, border guards destroyed four enemy UAVs.
In particular, forces from the Odesa Border Guard Detachment brought down a Shahed-131/136-type kamikaze attack drone, guiding it to land in a field without detonation. Another drone was destroyed by servicemen of the Berdiansk Border Guard Detachment on the Dnipro River axis. Two Gerbera drones were shot down by fighters of the Kherson Border Guard Detachment, the statement said.
