Russian troops carry out more than 900 attacks in south in February – Voloshyn

In February, within the operational zone of the Southern Group of Forces, Russian troops conducted 908 attacks on the positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces and significantly increased the intensity of strikes using various types of weapons.

Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, stated this in a comment to Ukrinform

"Over the course of the month, in the operational zone of the Southern Group of Forces, the enemy carried out 908 attacks on our positions. If we take 28 days, that amounts to approximately 30–32 combat engagements per day," he noted.

According to Voloshyn, the enemy has substantially increased the intensity of its firepower. "The enemy increased the number of missile strikes by one and a half times; a total of 47 missile strikes were recorded. The number of enemy guided aerial bomb strikes increased by 22% – 2,109 strikes were recorded last month," he said.

He added that the use of strike drones and air-launched missiles has also risen.

"In February, 2,156 Shahed drone strikes were recorded, and the use of unguided air rockets increased almost threefold. The enemy used 720 unguided air rockets," Voloshyn reported.

FPV drone activity also remains significant; 32,500 strikes were recorded during the period.

At the same time, the enemy continues to suffer heavy losses. "Enemy personnel losses in February amounted to 7,128 troops, and nearly 2,000 units of weapons and military equipment," he emphasized.

As Ukrinform previously reported, the total combat losses of Russian forces from February 24, 2022, to March 2, 2026, in the war against Ukraine amount to approximately 1,267,730 personnel, including 960 over the past day.
