Russian forces shell Kostiantynivka with artillery, killing woman

Russian troops shelled the town of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region with artillery on Saturday; as a result, a local woman was killed.

Serhii Horbunov, head of the town’s military administration, reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

“This morning, February 21, the enemy shelled the town with artillery. Shells exploded near a residential building, causing significant damage and partial destruction of the facade. Unfortunately, this attack proved fatal for one local resident,” Horbunov wrote.

He clarified that the woman sustained injuries incompatible with life and died on the spot.

Horbunov expressed his sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased and urged all residents to evacuate to safer regions of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 8:00 on February 21, Russian troops carried out 26 attacks in the Kostiantynivka sector, including near Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and toward Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Berestok, Novopavlivka, Illinivka, and Stepanivka.
