Five people injured in Sumy region due to Russian attacks

Five people were wounded in the Sumy region as a result of enemy attacks during the day.

According to Ukrinform, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this on Telegram.

"As a result of Russian shelling of the region, there are casualties among civilians. In the Sumy community, a guided aerial bomb injured an 87-year-old woman, and a 5-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl were also injured. In the Krasnopillia community, a 52-year-old man and an 18-year-old girl were injured when an FPV drone struck a civilian vehicle," the report said.

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, during the day, from the morning of February 20 to the morning of February 21, Russian troops carried out up to 70 shellings of 21 settlements in 13 territorial communities of the region. The most shelling was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.

During the attacks, the enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs.

In the Sumy community, private houses (one destroyed), civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, and cars were damaged.

In the Seredyna-Buda community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged, in the Krasnopillia community, a car was damaged, and in the Znob-Novhorod and Shalyhyne communities, private houses were damaged.

Four people were evacuated from the border communities.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that the air raid alert in the region lasted 20 hours and 36 minutes.

As reported by Ukrinform, on Saturday at around 4 a.m., Russian troops launched an air strike on Sumy, injuring three people, including two children.
