Two Russians attempting to infiltrate Ukraine captured in Lyman sector, Demchenko says
According to a Ukrinform correspondent, this was reported by State Border Guard Service spokesman Andrii Demchenko on a television broadcast.
Regarding where the situation is currently most difficult in the area controlled by the State Border Guard Service units, the spokesman noted: "The enemy has been more active recently in the Pokrovsk and Lyman sectors. Regarding the border with the Russian Federation, it runs toward the village of Vovchanski Khutory. Incidentally, two Russians were captured yesterday in the Lyman sector who were trying to infiltrate our lines and advance somehow."
According to Demchenko, the enemy continues to attempt to attack Ukrainian positions with small infantry groups toward Vovchanski Khutory.
“Within the Vovchanski Khutory community, these are mainly the settlements of Dihtiarne and Rybalchyne, where the enemy previously tested our border defense directly, our defensive stability, to subsequently attack the positions held by border units with greater forces. However, having suffered losses, the enemy is now not as active as before," he said.
In the Sumy region, according to the spokesperson for the border agency, the most difficult situation is in the area of responsibility of the State Border Guard Service in the Khotin and Yunakivka communities, where enemy infantry groups periodically try to advance, attacking the positions of Ukrainian defenders.
Demchenko also noted that there is no active concentration of enemy forces in these areas. At the same time, given the actions of the invaders in the Vovchanski Khutory community, he does not rule out that the enemy will continue to try to attack Ukrainian positions to determine where it can further expand its advances.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian army is trying to attack Ukrainian positions along the border and expand the combat zone. Still, despite constant assaults and attempts to get behind the lines, there is no advance — the enemy is suffering severe losses.
