Air Defense Forces neutralize 100 out of 126 Russian drones
According to Ukrinform, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Telegram.
Since 18:00 on Tuesday, February 17, Russia launched an attack with one Iskander-M ballistic missile from temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as 126 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types, and other drones from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske (Crimea). About 80 of the drones were of the Shahed type.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare and UAV units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:30 on Wednesday, February 18, the air defense had shot down or suppressed 100 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
Direct hits were recorded from a ballistic missile and 23 strike UAVs across 14 locations, with debris from downed targets falling in three locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
As Ukrinform reported, the Russians carried out 638 strikes on 40 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. One person was killed and seven others injured.
