National Guard special forces carry out operation behind enemy lines and free captive soldier

The Special Purpose Center of the National Guard, Omega, conducted a unique operation almost deep in enemy territory in the Pokrovsk sector and freed a soldier who had been held captive there for 27 days.

The National Guard stated this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"During the special operation, an Omega soldier who had been in enemy captivity for 27 days was freed," said Pavlo Yatsiuk, commander of the Special Purpose Center Omega.

According to him, the special forces officer with the call sign Karat is now heading to Kyiv for treatment due to injuries sustained.

"Thanks to the support and assistance of the fighters and the leadership of the SSU's CSO A and the 14th NGU Brigade Chervona Kalyna of the 1st Azov Corps. Unlike the aggressor country, we don't abandon our own," Yatsiuk emphasized.

It was previously reported that a sailor from Cherkasy region, who spent over three years in captivity, returned to Ukraine.
