Small group of Russians remains in Kupiansk, unable to fight, Tregubov says
This was reported on television by Victor Tregubov, head of the Communications Department for the Joint Forces Task Force, according to Ukrinform.
“In reality, Kupiansk is under Ukrainian control. The only small group of Russians is holed up in several high-rise buildings in the city center, but this group is incapable of combat operations, except for defending their lives,” he said.
According to Tregubov, the Russians have also been pushed out of the outskirts of Kupiansk.
“This applies to the north and east of the city. They are actively moving east of the city towards Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. There is a statement in the Russian media that they have captured Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, even though they have not even approached its administrative border,” Tregubov added.
As reported by Ukrinform, in early February, units of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade, named after Prince Roman the Great, of the 10th Army Corps, in cooperation with the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade, named after Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozky, thwarted an enemy attempt to break through defenses in the Kupiansk sector.
