War update: 74 clashes reported on Ukrainian front since dawn, Pokrovsk faces heaviest pressure

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, sharing operational information as of 16:00 on Monday, February 9, Ukrinform saw.

“The enemy continues attempts to advance into Ukrainian territory. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding them back, inflicting significant losses. Since the start of the day, the number of enemy attacks stands at 74,” the statement said.

According to the General Staff, shelling of border areas continues. Several settlements were affected today, including Yasna Poliana in the Chernihiv region, Bezsalivka, Ryzhivka, Iskryskivshchyna, Budky, Rohizne, Doroshivka, Seredyna-Buda, Novoivanivka, Kucherivka, Holyshivske, Kharkivka, Buniachyna, Tovstodubove, and Sorokyne in the Sumy region.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy conducted 34 shellings of settlements and positions of Ukrainian units, with one clash recorded.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy launched five attacks toward the settlements of Prilypka, Zelene, and Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces are attempting to advance in the areas of Pishchane and Dovhenke. Clashes continue.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled enemy attempts to advance toward Drobysheve and Novoselivka, with one attack still ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, Russian troops attempted to advance on Ukrainian positions near Ozerne, Dronivka, Zakitne, and Platonivka. One of seven clashes continues.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy attacked near Stupochky.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy conducted 10 offensive actions near Kostiantynivka, Kleban-Byk, Rusyn Yar, Stepanivka, and Illinivka. One attack is still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces attempted 32 times to push Ukrainian forces from their positions near Sofiivka, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novopidhorodnie, Novopavlivka, Ivanivka, Filiia, and Dachne. Ukraine’s Defense Forces are holding the line, having repelled 29 attacks so far.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the aggressor attacked toward Novokhatske. No active clashes are currently reported. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Kolomiitsi and Lisne.

In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 attacks near Huliaipole and toward Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Zelene, Zahirne, and Sviatopetrivka. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Dibrova, Charivne, and Vozdvyzhivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions near Mali Shcherbaky once.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the enemy conducted no offensive actions.

No significant changes have been recorded in other sectors of the front.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, fighting has been ongoing for a long time in the area of the settlement of Dehtiarnе in the Kharkiv region, as Russian forces attempt to infiltrate and establish control over the border area.
