One killed, two injured in Russian drone attack on Odesa

One person was killed and two others were injured in Odesa as a result of a Russian drone attack overnight on Monday, February 9.

Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"On the night of February 9, the Russian army carried out a massive drone strike on Odesa and the region. Residential areas in Odesa were hit. Unfortunately, one person was killed and two others were injured," Kiper said.

One of the drones struck the roof of a high-rise building, causing a fire. A gas pipeline was damaged.

Passenger cars were also set ablaze, and facades and glazing in several buildings were damaged.

Rescue workers promptly extinguished the fires. Emergency and municipal services continue to work at the scene to deal with the aftermath and provide assistance to residents. Law enforcement agencies are documenting another set of Russia's war crimes, Kiper added.

Earlier reports said that one person was killed in a Russian drone attack on Odesa on February 9.
