War update: 140 clashes on frontline, fiercest fighting in Pokrovsk, Huliaipole sectors

A total of 140 combat clashes were recorded along the frontline, with nearly 50 of them occurring in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors.

Ukrinform reports this, citing operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00 on February 5, 2026, published on Facebook.

“Since the beginning of the day, 140 combat engagements have taken place. The enemy carried out 55 air strikes, dropped 130 guided aerial bombs, deployed 4,130 kamikaze drones, and conducted 2,315 shelling attacks on populated areas and our troop positions,” the military said.

According to the General Staff, in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian troops repelled one enemy attack today. The enemy carried out 66 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including three using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy launched two assaults on Ukrainian positions near the town of Vovchansk.

Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks in the Kupiansk sector, near the settlement of Zahryzove and toward Kupiansk.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces stopped eight attacks in the areas of Drobysheve, Zarichne, and toward Stavky and Dibrova. One engagement is still ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled eight attempts by Russian troops to advance near the settlement of Dronivka and toward Zakitne and Platonivka. Three clashes are still underway.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian forces launched 17 assaults on Ukrainian defensive positions near the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar, Kleban-Byk, and toward Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Stepanivka, Novopavlivka, and Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy carried out 27 attacks. Russian troops attempted to advance near the settlements of Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and Filiia, as well as toward Novopidhorodnie, Novopavlivka, and Novyi Donbas. Fighting is still ongoing in several locations.

According to preliminary estimates, Ukrainian forces eliminated 53 Russian troops and wounded 37 in this sector today. They also destroyed 18 unmanned aerial vehicles, three vehicles, and seven pieces of special equipment. In addition, one self-propelled artillery system, five vehicles, two pieces of special equipment, two UAV command posts, and 12 enemy personnel shelters were damaged or destroyed.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Ukrainian units repelled three enemy attacks near Zlahoda and toward Oleksandrohrad. Air strikes with guided bombs hit Zelenа Dolyna, Levadne, and Orly.

In the Huliaipole sector, 22 enemy attacks took place near Huliaipole, Myrne, and toward Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Pryluky, Varvarivka, Sviatopetrivka, and Zelene. Fighting continues in some locations. Enemy aircraft also struck the settlements of Barvinivka, Rizdvianka, Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipilske, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Hirske, Kopani, and Vozdvyzhivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions near Prymorske. Enemy aircraft struck the settlements of Shevchenkivske and Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprovske sector, Russian forces made one unsuccessful attempt to improve their tactical position.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine has returned 150 military personnel and seven civilians from Russian captivity.
