Zelensky believes return of Ukrainians can help army and entire country
He said this in an interview with Czech Radio, Ukrinform reports.
Zelensky believes that there are young Ukrainians in the Czech Republic who could be in Ukraine and help the army.
"I think this is important, and our internal communication may not reach there [to the Czech Republic]. It is very important that everyone wants this. There were different people. There were those who fled the war and then returned and began to defend the state. And some took their families abroad and then returned to the front. We must understand that the more of our young people who are physically capable and of mobilization age and who went abroad… the more of them who returned here, the easier it would definitely be for our army, for our people, and for Ukraine," he said.
According to Zelensky, it is precisely because millions of people stayed that Ukraine has endured.
"The war has brought nothing but a feeling of unbearable pain. I do not look at this as millions of people who left. I look at it as a great test, and at the fact that millions of people stayed. Precisely because millions of people stayed, Ukraine stayed. And a large number of people are standing on the front lines today, and a large number of people have been wounded and killed. There is nothing positive about war. The only such feeling is respect… for those who are in Ukraine and those who preserved it. But I understand some people who, for understandable reasons, are not here today," Zelensky said.
As Ukrinform reported, State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andrii Demchenko said that in December the number of attempts to illegally cross Ukraine's state border decreased by about 20% compared to November.
