During the night on Friday, there were almost no enemy strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, except in the Donetsk region.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a video address, according to Ukrinform.

“The day began with reports from the regions: in all our regions from Friday night, there were indeed no strikes on energy facilities. Almost none. Except for the Donetsk region, where there was one strike on gas infrastructure – an aerial bomb hit,” Zelensky said.

The President noted that Russia has now redirected its attacks toward logistics and key railway hubs.

“In particular, one of Ukrzaliznytsia’s cars – a special power-generating wagon – was hit this morning in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Importantly, our railway workers continue to operate and ensure connectivity across all regions,” he added.

At the same time, Russia carried out attacks on Ukrainian cities throughout the day using drones, missiles, and aerial bombs. In the Kharkiv region, ballistic missiles struck warehouses of the American company Philip Morris. Other attacks were reported in Nikopol, Kherson, and border areas of the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions.

“Our Ukrainian response is completely reciprocal. The U.S. side spoke about refraining from energy strikes for a week, and this countdown began last night. Of course, it depends on our partners – on the United States – how it will go. Ukraine is ready to reciprocate by refraining from strikes, and today we did not hit any Russian energy facilities,” Zelensky emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed not to strike Ukrainian cities during the extreme cold for one week.

President Zelensky also clarified that there were no direct agreements between Ukraine and Russia regarding an energy ceasefire.
