On the southern axis, Russian forces have not changed their combat tactics and continue to use small assault groups, infiltration, and massive kamikaze drone strikes.

This was stated in a comment to Ukrinform by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Defense Forces of the South.

“The enemy continues to use the tactics of small assault groups as well as infiltration tactics with these small units,” he said.

According to Voloshyn, the enemy is also continuing to mine Ukrainian military logistics routes, especially near Huliaipole.

He added that last week, Russian forces did not conduct assaults using armored vehicles.

“The enemy did not use column assaults or armored assault groups last week, but the number of kamikaze drone strikes has not decreased,” Voloshyn noted.

The spokesperson emphasized that the intensity of FPV drone attacks remains very high.

“Every day we recorded between 1,500 and 2,000 FPV drone strikes,” he said.

He also reported that the enemy has not reduced artillery pressure.

“On average, there are 420 shelling incidents per day using more than 1,600–1,700 rounds,” Voloshyn said.

He added that the enemy is focusing particular attention on the Huliaipole sector.

“It is on the Huliaipole front that they continue attempts to encircle from the north and south and try to advance deeper into our defenses through assaults and infiltration,” he concluded.

As Ukrinform reported, on January 25, there were 138 combat encounters between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders on the frontline.
