Defense forces block enemy buildup near Hryshyne in Pokrovsk agglomeration
This was reported on Facebook by the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.
In Pokrovsk, the Defense Forces are holding back the enemy, which is trying in small groups to penetrate the northern part of the city, above the railway, and gain a foothold.
Due to the countermeasures of the Ukrainian defenders, the enemy is unable to accumulate sufficient forces in the industrial zone in the north-west of the city. Thus, the Russian Armed Forces are unable to carry out open direct assaults on Hryshyne, which is currently one of the priority targets in the Pokrovsk agglomeration.
Instead, the invaders continue to operate in small infantry groups, trying to move through forest belts and approach Hryshyne from the south.
In Myrnohrad, the Defense Forces are holding back the enemy in the northern part of the city.
Over the past week, there has been an accumulation of enemy equipment in the Novohrodivka area, south of Myrnohrad.
In the future, the invaders plan to use these forces and means to continue their assault operations, in particular on the “upper” part of Myrnohrad. The defense forces are working to detect and destroy this equipment in a timely manner.
Since the beginning of December, as a result of active assault operations, the operational reserve of the Russian Federation — units of the 76th Pskov Airborne Assault Division — has already suffered significant losses. This is forcing the enemy to bring in additional units to maintain its offensive potential. According to available information, Russia wants to replenish its losses in the Pokrovsk direction in several stages by the end of January.
In total, last week, the Ukrainian military eliminated and wounded 370 invaders. Also, 86 vehicles and motorcycles, 20 cannons and self-propelled guns were destroyed and damaged, and nearly 1,400 strike UAVs were neutralized.
According to Ukrinform, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the operational situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains difficult, with about 50 combat clashes taking place there every day, but the Ukrainian military is holding its ground.
