War update: 144 clashes on front line, one-third of them occur in Pokrovsk sector

Over the past day, January 18, there were 144 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders on the front line.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Facebook about the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19.

The enemy carried out 112 air strikes, dropping 316 guided bombs. In addition, the Russians used 8,156 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,875 shellings, 70 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

The Russian army carried out air strikes on the areas of Khvyli, Mechetne, and Pokrovske in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and on the areas of Verkhnia Tersa, Zhovta Krucha, Tavriiske, Vozdvyzhivka, Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Dolynka, Svoboda, Rizdvianka, and Zirnytsia in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The Air Force, Rocket Forces, and Artillery of the Defense Forces struck 13 areas where personnel and equipment were concentrated, one command and observation post, and a Russian electronic warfare station.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, there was one combat engagement, the enemy carried out two air strikes, dropping three aerial bombs, and carried out 99 shellings, including one with MLRS.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 10 Russian attacks in the areas of Vovchansk and Starytsia and toward Hrafske, Nesterne, and Kruhle.

Five attacks took place in the Kupiansk sector. Defense Forces repelled Russian assaults in the Pishchane area and toward Kurylivka, Petropavlivka, and Borivska Andriivka.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked four times, trying to break through the defenses in the Yampil area and toward Stavky and Oleksandrivka.

In the Sloviansk sector, Defense Forces repelled three enemy attacks in the area of the village of Pazeno and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka.

Russian troops did not conduct offensive operations in the Kramatorsk sector.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, the invaders carried out 17 attacks in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, Kleban-Byk, and toward Berestok, Stepanivka, Sofiivka, and Torske.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 50 Russian assaults in the areas of Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Zatyshok, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Chervonyi Lyman, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and toward Serhiivka, Filiia, Kucheriiv Yar, and Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy launched five attacks toward Ivanivka, Nove Zaporizhzhia, and Radisne.

In the Huliaipole sector, the Defense Forces repelled 21 Russian attacks in the areas of Huliaipole, Zelene, and toward Sviatopetrivka, Varvarivka, and Dobropillia.

In the Orikhiv sector, two clashes took place in the Plavni area.

In the Prydniprovske sector, Russian troops did not conduct any offensive operations.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of Russian offensive groupings were detected.

As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to January 19, 2026, in the war against Ukraine amount to approximately 1,227,440 soldiers.
