Overnight, Russia struck Ukraine using 113 strike drones, about 70 of which were Shaheds. The enemy also launched three ballistic missiles.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Last night, Russia continued striking our communities and our energy sector…A total of 113 attack drones were launched, about 70 of them were 'shaheds,' and there were also missiles – three ballistic ones. I thank our defenders who repel Russia's aerial attacks day and night – the Air Force, the anti-aircraft missile troops, the electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and the mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. I thank everyone working to deal with the aftermath of these attacks. I am grateful for such support for our country," he wrote.

Zelensky noted that Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions were targeted. The main targets, he said, were energy facilities and critical infrastructure that ensure normal life for people: heat and electricity.

"In the morning, our air defense forces were operating in Kyiv, and an air raid alert sounded in the capital and the region, as well as in the Chernihiv region," he reminded.

He emphasized that Ukraine's current priority is strengthening air defense, especially missiles for the systems. Contributions from partners to the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) program are needed, as well as support from European stockpiles and faster implementation of agreements with the United States.

"It is very important to reinforce our warriors now. If we can counter these Russian attacks with 100% effectiveness, Putin's terror will become meaningless. At the moment, this is their advantage, and this is exactly Russia's bet. We must deprive them of this. It can work and will force Russia to stop the killings and move toward peace. I am grateful to everyone in the world who is ready to help us," the head of state wrote.

As Ukrinform reported, President Zelensky held a meeting of the Commander-in-Chief's Staff to discuss the protection of Ukraine. In particular, he stressed that the PURL program requires replenishment, and in January progress has still been insufficient.
