War update: 78 clashes on front since morning, Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions most active

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, releasing operational information as of 16:00 on Monday, January 12, Ukrinform reports.

Today, Russian forces shelled border settlements with mortars and artillery, including Huta-Studenetska, Kliusy, and Bleshnia in Chernihiv region, as well as Bezsalivka, Rohizne, Ryzhivka, Iskryskivshchyna, Ulanove, Malushyne, Budky, and Chernatske in Sumy region.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sector, the invaders carried out 61 shelling attacks, including two using multiple launch rocket systems. No offensive actions have been conducted on these sections so far today.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled four enemy attacks near Prylipka, toward Kruhle, Ternova, and Obukhivka. One clash is ongoing.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces attempted to advance toward Petropavlivka and Kurylivka.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions six times near Novoselivka, toward Lyman, Stavky, and Drobysheve. One engagement is still underway.

In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy attempted to advance on Ukrainian positions near Sviato-Pokrovske.

In the Kramatorsk sector, no offensive actions were carried out.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, the Russian army attempted 13 times to break through Ukrainian defenses near Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Ivanopillia, and Rusyn Yar, toward Sofiivka. Fighting continues.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the invaders have already made 21 attempts today to push Ukrainian forces from their positions near Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and Filiia, toward Kucherev Yar. Ukrainian defenders are holding the line, with 17 attacks already repelled.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy assault actions. Russian troops are trying to advance near Zlahoda and toward Nove Zaporizhzhia. One clash is ongoing.

In the Huliaipole sector, 24 clashes took place near Huliaipole, toward Olenokostiantynivka and Varvarivka. Fighting is still ongoing in some locations.

Russian aircraft dropped glide bombs on Verkhna Tersa, Barvinivka, and Liubytske.

In the Orikhiv and Prydniprovske sectors, the invaders have not conducted offensive actions so far today.

As Ukrinform reported, Russian assault units are again attempting to infiltrate the northern part of the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region.
