Zelensky appoints Freeland as adviser on economic development
He announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Today I appointed Chrystia Freeland as an Advisor on Economic Development. Chrystia is highly skilled in these matters and has extensive experience in attracting investment and implementing economic transformations," he wrote.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine now needs to increase its internal resilience - for the sake of Ukraine's recovery if diplomacy works as quickly as possible, and for the sake of strengthening our defense if, due to delays by partners, it is necessary to work longer to end the war.
He expressed gratitude to everyone who is ready to help Ukraine and engage in cooperation with partners.
Decree No. 15/2026 on Freeland's appointment has been published on the website of the Office of the President. It is noted that she will serve as a non-staff adviser to the President.
"To appoint Chrystia FREELAND as Adviser to the President of Ukraine on Economic Development (non-staff)," the document states.
As reported, Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Sergiy Kyslytsya as Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
