Ihnat: Ukrainian Air Force carries out about 7,000 sorties in 2025
According to Ukrinform, this was stated on television by Yurii Ihnat, Head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command.
"We not only defend ourselves, of course, but also strike back at the enemy; about 7,000 flights were made in 2025. This includes air and fighter cover, as well as tactical aviation, which is used for combat operations, including bombers, attack aircraft, and fighters. F-16 aircraft are showing increasingly better results in Ukrainian skies," Ihnat said.
He recalled the record set by our pilots in shooting down enemy cruise missiles. "In fact, 31 out of 35 missiles were destroyed. The F-16 pilots have once again proven to the world that we can effectively utilize equipment that is not particularly high-tech, because our F-16s are not the modifications we wanted. Still, they have shown that we can quickly master, effectively apply the equipment, and strike back at the enemy," Ihnat emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, the vast majority of Russian missiles during the enemy attack on the night of December 23 were intercepted by F-16 pilots.
