War update: 131 clashes on front line, most attacks take place in Pokrovsk sector
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook about the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 1.
The enemy carried out 77 air strikes, dropping 182 guided bombs. In addition, the Russians carried out 3,587 shellings, including 84 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 6,406 kamikaze drones.
The Russian army carried out air strikes on the areas of Verkhnia Tersa, Lyubytske, and Orikhiv in the Zaporizhzhia region; Andriivka-Klevtsove in the Donetsk region; Mykhailivka in the Kherson region; and Zatoka in the Odesa region.
The Air Force, Rocket Forces, and Artillery of the Defense Forces struck two areas where Russian personnel were concentrated and a Russian UAV control point.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the invaders carried out one air strike using three guided bombs and carried out 84 shellings, including two with MLRS.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy attempted six times to break through the defensive lines near Vovchansk, toward Obukhivka, and Dovhenke.
Seven enemy attacks took place in the Kupiansk sector. Defense Forces repelled Russian assaults toward Novoplatonivka, Bohuslavka, Kurylivka, Shyikivka, and Hlushkivka.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy launched 11 attacks, aiming to break through the defenses near Novoselivka, Yampil, Zarichne, and toward Stavky and Drobysheve.
In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian defenders thwarted a Russian attempt to advance in the Serebrianka area.
No enemy offensive actions were recorded in the Kramatorsk sector.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian troops carried out 16 attacks in the areas of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Yablunivka, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Torske, Rusyne Yar, and toward Sofiivka and Ivanopil.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 33 Russian army assaults in the areas of Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Filiia, Hryshyne, and toward Novopavlivka, Kucheriiv Yar, Bilytske, Novopidhorodnie, Nove Shakhove, Rodynske, and Serhiivka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy carried out 15 attacks near Zlahoda, Rybne, Zelenyi Hai, and toward Andriivka-Klevtsove and Pryvillia.
In the Huliaipole sector, there were 15 Russian attacks in the areas of Huliaipole, Solodke, and Bilohiria.
No combat clashes were recorded in the Orikhiv sector.
The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Prydniprovske sector.
No signs of Russian offensive group formations were detected in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to January 1, 2026, in the war against Ukraine amount to about 1,208,970 people, including 1,060 people in the previous day.
