Ukraine’s Air Defense Forces neutralized 474 unmanned aerial vehicles and 29 missiles launched by Russia against Ukraine since the evening.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on its Telegram channel.

Starting at 18:00 on Friday, December 26, Russian forces carried out a combined strike on critical infrastructure facilities across Ukraine, employing attack UAVs as well as air-, sea-, and ground-launched missiles.

The primary sector of the attack was the Kyiv region.

In total, the radio engineering troops of the Air Force detected and tracked 559 aerial attack assets, including 40 missiles and 519 UAVs of various types:

  • 519 attack UAVs of the Shahed type and Gerbera (other UAV types), launched from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian Federation), Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea); about 300 of them were Shahed-type UAVs;
  • 10 ballistic/aeroballistic missiles Iskander-M / Kh-47M2 Kinzhal (launch areas: Ryazan and Bryansk regions);
  • seven cruise missiles Iskander-K / Kalibr (launch areas: Rostov region, Black Sea waters);
  • 21 Kh-101 cruise missiles (launch areas: airspace over the Vologda region);
  • Two Kh-22 cruise missiles were launched from the airspace over the Black Sea.

The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 13:00 on Saturday, December 27, Air Defense Forces shot down / jammed 503 aerial targets:

  • 474 UAVs;
  • Six ballistic/aeroballistic missiles Iskander-M / Kh-47M2 Kinzhal;
  • Four cruise missiles Iskander-K / Kalibr;
  • 19 Kh-101 cruise missiles.

Impacts of 10 missiles and 25 attack UAVs were recorded at 30 locations; debris from downed targets fell at 16 locations.

Additionally, one missile failed to reach its target. Information regarding 15 UAVs (locally lost) is being clarified, and several enemy UAVs remain airborne.

As reported by Ukrinform, one person has been killed and 32 others injured in Kyiv as a result of the Russian attack on December 27.

In the Kyiv region, 14 people were injured, and one person was killed.
