Injury toll in Russian strike on apartment building in Chernihiv rises to eight, one killed

In Chernihiv, the number of people injured in a Russian strike on a multi-story residential building has risen to eight. Three of them are in serious condition, and one person has been killed.

This was reported on Telegram by Head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration Viacheslav Chaus, according to Ukrinform.

“A Russian drone hit a five-story apartment building in Chernihiv. Extremely brutal. On Christmas Day. In broad daylight. People were at home. One person was killed – an 80-year-old woman. Eight people were injured, three of them seriously,” Chaus wrote, noting that the figures are preliminary.

According to Chaus, the drone struck an apartment on the third floor, causing extensive damage. Rescue operations are ongoing, and firefighters are working to extinguish a fire. All emergency services and volunteers are on site; an Invincibility Point has been set up at the location.
