Child killed and five people injured in Zhytomyr region due to Russian attacks

A child was killed, and five people were injured in the Zhytomyr region as a result of Russian shelling, which also damaged houses and enterprises.

This was reported by Vitalii Bunechko, the Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“Zhytomyr region has been under enemy air attacks for the second day in a row. According to preliminary information, several hits or falls of missiles and kamikaze drones were recorded in the region last night,” Bunechko said.

He said that the attack damaged residential buildings, private civilian enterprises, and a store.

Later, the Head of the Regional Military Administration clarified that a child born in 2021 had died in the hospital.

“She was hospitalized, doctors struggled to save the child's life, but in the end they were unable to save her,” Bunechko said.

According to him, another child and an adult are in hospitals. A total of five people were injured.

As reported by Ukrinform, nine people were wounded in the Kherson region as a result of attacks by the Russian army, which targeted critical and social infrastructure and residential areas.
