War update: 223 clashes along frontline over past day, Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka sectors see fiercest fighting

This was reported by Ukrinform, citing a statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, as of 8:00 on Monday, December 22.

The enemy launched one missile strike using a single missile, carried out 18 airstrikes dropping 50 guided aerial bombs, deployed 3,248 kamikaze drones, and conducted 3,177 artillery strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements.

Ukrainian missile and artillery units struck a concentration of enemy personnel and one other important enemy target.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, three Russian attacks occurred. The enemy conducted one airstrike with three bombs and carried out 116 artillery strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including eight from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 16 attacks near Vovchansk, Prylipky, Dvorichanske, and toward Izbytske, Vilcha, and Obukhivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, six Russian attacks took place; Ukrainian defenders repelled assaults toward Kurylivka, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, and Hlushkivka.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked 19 times, attempting to advance toward Druzheliubivka, Stavky, Novoserhiivka, Korovii Yar, Stepove, Olhivka, Lyman, Drobysheve, and near Zarichne.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled five Russian assaults near Yampil and Siversk.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy attacked three times near Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, and Virolubivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian troops conducted 27 attacks near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Kleban-Byk, Kostiantynivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Sofiivka and Stepanivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, 57 combat engagements occurred near Shakhove, Rodynske, Sukhetske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiia, and toward Hryshyne, Dorozhne, Novopidhorodnie, Serhiivka, Nove Shakhove, and Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Ukrainian forces stopped 17 Russian attempts to breach defensive lines near Oleksandrohrad, Sichneve, Sosnivka, Pryvilne, Rybne, Pershotravneve, and toward Andriivka-Klevtsove and Ivanivka.

In the Huliaipole sector, the enemy attempted 11 times to advance on Ukrainian positions near Huliaipole.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled eight attacks near Stepove, Shcherbaky, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepnohirsk, and toward Novoandriivka and Prymorske.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the enemy made two unsuccessful attempts to approach Ukrainian positions.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of enemy offensive groupings were detected.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to December 22, 2025, reached approximately 1,197,860 personnel, including 1,120 eliminated over the past day.
