War update: 164 frontline clashes, 42 attacks repelled in Pokrovsk sector

Ukrinform reports this with reference to the operational update coming from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00 on December 9, 2025, published on Facebook.

“Since the beginning of the day, a total of 164 combat clashes have taken place. The Russian invaders carried out 40 airstrikes, dropping 109 glide bombs. They also used 3,313 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,994 attacks on positions of our troops and settlements,” the update reads.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, one combat engagement occurred, with the enemy dropping one guided aerial bomb and conducting more than 100 shelling attacks.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy attacked twice near Prylipky and toward Izbytske.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces attempted two offensives toward Petropavlivka and Bohuslavka.

In the Lyman sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled 13 assaults near Hrekivka, Novyi Myr, Myrne, and toward Stavky and Drobysheve. Two engagements are ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy attacked 11 times near Yampil, Serebrianka, Siversk, Pereizne, and Fedorivka. One clash is still underway.

In the Kramatorsk sector, two attacks have been repelled near Chasiv Yar and toward Bondarne.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, 18 combat engagements occurred. Russian troops attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, and toward Sofiivka. Two battles are ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the start of the day, the enemy conducted 42 assaults near Shakhove, Ivanivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Hryshyne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne, Filiia, and toward Novopidhirne and Novopavlivka. Ukrainian defenders are holding back the offensive; fighting continues in five locations.

According to preliminary data, 122 Russian troops have been neutralized in this sector, including 87 irreversibly. Ukrainian forces also destroyed two vehicles, six motorcycles, two ground robotic systems, seven UAVs, three units of special equipment, two personnel shelters, and struck two vehicles and 13 enemy shelters.

In the Oleksandrohrad sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 13 attacks near Zelenyi Hai, Yalta, Vorone, Vyshneve, Rybne, Yehorivka, Pryvilne, and toward Danylivka. Two clashes are ongoing.

In the Huliaipole sector, 13 clashes occurred near Zatyshshia, Huliaipole, Bilohiria, and toward Varvarivka and Dobropillia. Two battles are still underway.

In the Orikhiv sector, no combat engagements were recorded.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted three assaults near the Antonivskyi Bridge.

No significant changes were reported in other sectors of the front.

As reported, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said the length of the front line had decreased by 35 kilometers over the past month thanks to the actions of Ukrainian troops.
