Military prepare backup routes ahead of Russian strike on Pechenihy Dam – Trehubov

Damage to the Pechenihy Dam in Kharkiv region did not come as a surprise to the Defense Forces, the military had prepared in advance for such a scenario and laid out backup routes.

Viktor Trehubov, head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Group, stated this during a TV broadcast, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"They were prepared for this, they knew about it. The 16th Army Corps separately warned that such a scenario was possible because the Russians had previously struck the Pechenihy Dam. Therefore, bypass routes were prepared," Trehubov said.

He emphasized that the situation complicates logistics but does not create a critical threat.

"Of course, it does not improve logistics, but we knew this was possible, so we did some planning ahead," Trehubov added.

Commenting on the nature of Russian strikes, he noted that the enemy used various means of attack. "There were combined strikes. If we talk about UAVs, they are high precision. FABs are completely inaccurate, but very powerful. And as for missiles, it depends on the specific type," he explained.

As Ukrinform reported, Russian forces struck the dam of the Pechenihy reservoir in the Kharkiv region.
