In Ternopil, the dismantling of a multi-apartment building at 8 Vasyl Stus Street, which was hit by a Russian missile on November 19, has begun.

The city council stated this on its website, according to Ukrinform.

"The building has been declared unsuitable for restoration. The corresponding decision was made by the executive committee of the Ternopil City Council on the basis of an expert report and the protocol of an extraordinary meeting of the regional commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergency situations of the Ternopil region dated 28.11.2025 No. 7. The document confirms the presence of critical damage to the load-bearing structures, which makes the building impossible to operate," the statement says.

It is noted that a fence has been installed around the building, and specialists with heavy equipment are carrying out the dismantling of the structures.

According to the city council, residents of the building at 8 Vasyl Stus Street will be able to receive financial compensation under the state program eRecovery. The received funds can be used to purchase new housing. This can be done through the Diia app, at the Ternopil Administrative Services Center, or with any notary. For additional consultations, the city council's hotline is available: 097 613 59 80.
