Ukrainian forces blocking Russian attempts to enter northern Pokrovsk – military
The information was reported by the East Group of Troops on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
Using fog as cover, Russian troops are attempting to move into the northern part of the town. These attempts are being blocked by Ukraine’s Defense Forces, who are destroying enemy personnel.
The situation remains difficult in near Myrnohrad. Ukrainian units continue to carry out assigned tasks and hold their defensive lines.
The enemy is actively attacking Myrnohrad with guided aerial bombs and conducting intense assault operations, trying to break through and gain a foothold on the southeastern outskirts of the town. Ukraine’s Defense Forces are destroying Russian assault groups using all available means.
Additional logistics routes to Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are being organized to ensure uninterrupted supply of Ukrainian units and timely evacuation.
Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of responsibility of the East Group of Troops repelled 68 Russian assaults over the past day.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the Ukrainian defenders stopped 43 attacks near Shakhove, Fedorivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Nykanorivka, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne, and toward Novopavlivka.
In this sector alone on December 8, according to preliminary data, 84 invaders were neutralized, including 48 irreversibly. Ukrainian fighters also destroyed six vehicles, 12 UAVs, two artillery systems, and 15 enemy shelters.
Overall, in the area of responsibility of the East Group of Troops, the enemy continues to suffer the highest losses – 324 invaders over the past day.
Additionally, 1,193 UAVs of various types and 47 other pieces of weaponry and equipment were destroyed, and 28 Russian UAV units were struck.
Missile and artillery units carried out 913 fire missions.
As reported earlier by Ukrinform, in the Pokrovsk sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces conducted an organized maneuver near Lysivka and Sukhyi Yar, repositioning personnel to more advantageous lines.
