In the early hours of December 5, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine targeted infrastructure at Russia’s Temryuk Seaport and the Syzran Oil Refinery.

The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“As part of efforts to degrade the military-economic potential of the Russian aggressor, during the night of December 5, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck infrastructure at the Temryuk Seaport (Temryuk, Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation). This port handles, among other things, general cargo, liquid shipments (including liquefied natural gas and chemical goods), and bulk and break-bulk cargo. It is used to support the Russian occupation army. Impacts on the facility were recorded, followed by a fire.”

The extent of the damage is being clarified.

The General Staff also reported that facilities at the Syzran Oil Refinery in Russia’s Samara region were struck. The refinery processes between 7 and 8.9 million tonnes of crude oil per year and supports the armed forces of the Russian aggressor. UAV impacts were recorded on refinery grounds, followed by a fire. According to preliminary information, one of the refinery’s units was hit.
