The Third Army Corps stated that the information about the so-called Russian breakthrough in the city of Lyman in Donetsk region is not true and is “a lie of the Russian Federation's high command.”

This is stated in a message from the Third Army Corps on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

According to the Ukrainian military, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Herasimov, reported to Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin about “Russia's breakthrough in Donetsk region,” where the 63rd and 60th OMBr units of the Third Army Corps are holding the defense.

“The corps' units repel about 40 enemy assaults per day on the approaches to Lyman and do not allow the enemy to enter the city,” said the corps commander, Brigadier General Andriy Biletsky.

In particular, over the past month, the enemy has made dozens of attempts to infiltrate small groups on the outskirts of the city. And the occupiers of each of them were eliminated or taken prisoner, according to the Third Army Corps.

“One of the captured Russians thanks the Russian military correspondent in a video for ‘leaking’ their positions on Telegram. Our soldiers quickly detected the enemy. Part of the group was destroyed on the spot, but he was lucky to be captured and survive,” the statement said.

Colonel Pavlo Yurchuk, commander of the 63rd Mechanized Brigade, added that in four years, Russian Chief of General Staff Herasimov had “burned” his army without taking full control of a single Ukrainian region. “Therefore, while our units are nipping any attempts by the Russian Federation to approach Lyman in the bud, he is reporting to Putin about non-existent successes,” Yurchuk emphasized.

The Third Army Corps emphasized that it continues to hold the line of defense on the occupied frontiers.

As reported, the Russians are shelling all access roads to Lyman, and as of November 12, 3,500 people remained in the city.

Due to damage to the gas distribution system as a result of enemy shelling, gas supplies to Lyman have been completely cut off.
