Russian Red Cross trains children in military skills on temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine
The Center for Strategic Communications reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
According to the investigation, the RRC receives millions of euros from international Red Cross structures, even though the European Commission insists that none of its funds should be reaching Russia. At the same time, the Kremlin finances the RRC with at least EUR 6.7 million, including for expanding its network of branches in the occupied territories.
Despite claims of neutrality, the RRC cooperates with Russia's militaristic organizations — the Movement of the First and Yunarmiya.
The RRC became a co-organizer of the children's competition Zarnitsa 2.0, where children from the age of eight are taught to assemble weapons and operate drones. These events are held across Russia and in the temporarily occupied territories, including in Donetsk, where participants were evaluated by representatives of the Russian National Guard.
The RRC spends significant resources on its joint First Aid project with the Movement of the First.
New fake structures branded as Red Cross branches, the Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia Red Cross, have already been created in the occupied territories. On social media, they claim to work with the ICRC, but the European Commission denies this.
Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets called on international organizations to expel the Russian Red Cross, stressing that the organization encourages children to participate in war and carries out the Kremlin's political tasks. Despite the scandal, the RRC continues its activities: on November 14 in Saransk, together with the Movement of the First, it held the final round of the First Aid competition — among the participants were children from Ukraine's temporarily occupied territories.
As Ukrinform reported, a new wave of covert mobilization has begun in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region.
