War update: 130 engagements on frontline, fiercest battles in Pokrovsk sector

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, releasing an operational update as of 16:00 on Friday, November 21, according to Ukrinform.

Russian artillery struck Bila Bereza, Starykove, and Kucherivka in the Sumy region, as well as Karpovychi in the Chernihiv region.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the invaders carried out ten attacks. Their artillery has already fired 63 times at Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including one strike using a multiple launch rocket system.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, six combat engagements took place in the areas of Synelnykove and Vovchansk and in the direction of Kolodiazne. Two engagements are still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks launched in the direction of Petropavlivka and Pishchane. One engagement is still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces carried out ten attacks today on Ukrainian positions near Kopanky, Hrekivka, Karpivka, Shandryholove, and Novoselivka, as well as in the direction of Novyi Myr, Shyikivka, Drobysheve, and Stavky. Five engagements are ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, the invaders launched 11 attacks since the beginning of the day, targeting areas near Serebrianka, Dronivka, and Vyimka, as well as the direction of Siversk and Zvanivka. Four engagements are ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces conducted one unsuccessful attack in the area of Chasiv Yar.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 enemy attempts to breach the defense in the areas of Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Kleban-Byk, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka, as well as in the direction of Predtechyne, Stepanivka, and Sofiivka. Two more engagements are ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces conducted 41 attempts since the beginning of the day to push the Defence Forces from their positions in the areas of Shakhove, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, Dachne, and Filiia, and in the direction of Novyi Shakhove, Myrnohrad, Hryshyne, and Novopavlivka. Ukrainian defenders are holding the line, having repelled 30 enemy attacks so far.

In the Oleksandrohrad sector, defenders halted 20 Russian assaults in the areas of Andriivka-Klevtsove, Yalta, Sichneve, Vorone, Stepove, Verbove, and Pryvilne, as well as in the direction of Oleksiivka.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces made three attempts to advance on Ukrainian positions in the area of Rivnopillia and in the direction of Zatyshshia. One engagement is ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled six Russian attacks in the areas of Shcherbaky and Stepove, as well as in the direction of Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilivka, Novoandriivka, and Prymorske. Two engagements are still underway.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the enemy has not conducted offensive actions today.
