Russian strike on Ternopil to be discussed at UN Security Council on November 20

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha has called on international partners to condemn Russia’s attack on Ternopil, which caused numerous casualties, and to provide Ukraine with additional air-defense capabilities.

He wrote this on X, Ukrinform reports.

“Ukraine will bring Russia’s horrific murder of at least 25 people, including 3 children, in Ternopil to the spotlight of tomorrow’s UN Security Council meeting. We urge condemnation, justice, and strong responses,” said the Ukrainian Foreign Minister.

Sybiha noted that Kyiv had already informed all partners and international organizations about the consequences of the strike.

In light of such Russian brutality, he again called for providing Ukraine with additional air-defense systems and other equipment to protect the Ukrainian people.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also instructed all Ukrainian embassies to lower flags and open books of condolences.

As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that on November 19, Russian forces launched over 470 strike drones and 48 missiles of various types at Ukraine.

The death toll in Ternopil from the Russian strike has risen to 25, including three children, with 73 people injured.

The UN Security Council will convene on Thursday, November 20, to discuss the recent Russian attacks on Ukraine and the humanitarian situation caused by the war.
