Russia recruits Ukrainian prisoners of war into four formed units – Coordination Headquarters

"There is a number of our prisoners of war who fell into Russian captivity, and Russia is using them against us. Four units have been created under the control of the Russian General Staff. These are the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Battalion, the Maksym Kryvonis Battalion, the Martyn Pushkar Detachment, and the Oleksandr Matrosov Detachment. These are the units in which our POWs are being involved," he said.
According to Usov, the Coordination Headquarters has verified information about 62 contracts of Ukrainian POWs with the Russian Ministry of Defense to participate in the war against Ukraine in these units.
"And there is even one soldier who came into our custody from the Maksym Kryvonos Battalion," he added.
As Ukrinform reported, the Coordination Headquarters also stated that Russia has mobilized 46,327 Ukrainians from temporarily occupied territories to fight against Ukraine from February 2022 to July 2025.
