Defence Forces strike oil terminal infrastructure at Novorossiysk Port

Ukrainian Defence Forces struck the oil terminal at the Novorossiysk seaport overnight, damaging oil-loading standpipes at the berths, pipeline infrastructure, and pumping units. A large fire continues to rage at the oil terminal.

Sources within the Security Service of Ukraine informed Ukrinform about this.

The Novorossiysk Port is the second-largest oil export hub in the Russian Federation and a key logistics node for exporting oil products through the Black Sea.

The operation was carried out by the Special Operations Center "A" of the Security Service of Ukraine together with the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, coastal missile and artillery troops of the Naval Forces, and other units of the Defence Forces.

“Every destroyed oil refinery or oil terminal means millions of dollars lost to the Kremlin’s war machine. We will continue depriving the aggressor of resources until it loses the ability to wage this war,” the source in the SSU noted.

A confirmed strike also hit positions of an S-300/400 surface-to-air missile system in Novorossiysk, located on the grounds of Military Unit 1537. A powerful detonation was recorded following the strike.

According to Ukrinform, Reuters, citing informed sources, stated that the Russian port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea halted oil exports after a nighttime drone attack.
