One killed, injury toll rises to 24 during Russian attack in Kyiv
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"In Kyiv, one person was killed and at least 15 were injured as a result of the Russian attack. More than 40 people were rescued by SES units," the post says.
The Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) reported that the number of people injured in the enemy attack has risen to 24, including one child. The SES states:
In the Podilskyi district, a high-rise building was hit at the level of the 15th floor. Thirteen people were rescued.
In the Dniprovskyi district, fires in two apartments on the first floor of a five-story building, covering 50 m², were extinguished. Seventeen people were rescued.
At another address, a fire covering 30 m² was extinguished. Partial destruction on the 19th and 21st floors was recorded.
Wooden buildings at a sports facility covering 200 m² were also burning.
In the Darnytskyi district, a 5 m² fire broke out on the grounds of a school.
In the Desnianskyi district, a high-rise building caught fire at the level of the 7th floor. The fire was contained. During firefighting operations, nine people were rescued and another 50 were evacuated.
At another address, a high-rise building caught fire at the level of the 5th–8th floors. One person was killed. Fourteen people were rescued, including one child, and one person was freed from under the rubble.
In the Solomianskyi district, the roof and the fifth floor of a residential building caught fire. Twenty people were rescued during firefighting operations.
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a high-rise building was struck at the level of the seventh floor.
A fire in a 22-story residential building at the level of the 19th floor was also extinguished.
In the Holosiivskyi district, debris fell on the grounds of a hospital.
At another address, a fire in a building covering 15 m² was extinguished.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire in an open area was extinguished.
In the Obolon district, a 9-story residential building was hit, causing fires in apartments from the 7th to the 9th floors, covering a total area of about 100 m² One person was rescued and the fire was extinguished.
It is noted that all emergency services are working at the scene.
Earlier, KCMA head Tymur Tkachenko reported 16 injured as a result of the Russian strike on Kyiv.
As Ukrinform reported, Russia is massively attacking Kyiv and the region with missiles and drones. Strikes have been recorded in eight districts of the capital.
