Shmyhal discusses Ukraine's winter needs with NATO delegation

Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with a NATO delegation to discuss Ukraine's needs for the winter, innovations, and protection against enemy drones and missiles.

Shmyhal reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

The delegation was led by U.S. Ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker.

According to Shmyhal, regarding Ukraine's winter needs, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense provided detailed briefings for the partners. The focus was on air defense systems and building a layered protection structure, including air defense missiles, interceptor drones, and radars.

The minister said that today Ukraine not only needs assistance but is also ready to share its experience in developing air defense systems with allied nations.

"Free skies must be reliably protected from enemy aggression," he said.

Shmyhal thanked the ambassadors of NATO member states for their steadfast support of Ukraine since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion. He expressed particular gratitude for their active participation in the PURL initiative.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukraine and NATO recently conducted a new stage of testing an innovative solution to counter guided aerial bombs.
