Ukraine’s air defenses down 623 drones and missiles out of 705 launched

During the night of October 30, Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 623 drones and missiles out of 705 launched by Russia since the evening of October 29. There were direct hits from 16 missiles and 63 strike drones recorded at 20 locations.

According to Ukrinform, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

“During the night of October 30 (starting from 19:00 on October 29), the enemy carried out a combined strike on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure using strike UAVs and missiles launched from air-, land-, and sea-based platforms. In total, radar units of the Air Force detected and tracked 705 aerial targets — including 52 missiles (nine of them ballistic) and 653 drones of various types (around 400 of them Shaheds),” the statement said.

Specifically, the enemy used:

  • 653 strike UAVs of Shahed, Gerbera and other types launched from Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea);
  • four Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles (from Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia);
  • five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles (from Rostov region, Russia);
  • eight Kalibr cruise missiles;
  • two Iskander-K cruise missiles (from Kursk and Voronezh regions, Russia);
  • 30 Kh-101 cruise missiles (from Saratov region, Russia);
  • two Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles (from over the Black Sea);
  • one Kh-31P anti-radar air-launched missile (from over the Black Sea).

The attack was repelled by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

As of 11:30, preliminary data indicate that air defenses shot down or neutralized 623 aerial targets, including:

  • 592 strike drones (Shahed, Gerbera, and others);
  • seven Kalibr cruise missiles;
  • one Iskander-K cruise missile;
  • 21 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
  • two Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles.

At the same time, direct hits from 16 missiles and 63 strike drones were recorded at 20 locations, with debris from downed targets falling in 19 other locations across various regions of Ukraine.

Additionally, as of 11:30, three enemy missiles remain unaccounted for; the sites of their impact and consequences are being verified.

As previously reported, overnight on October 30, Russia carried out a massive strike against Ukraine’s power system, targeting thermal power plants in multiple regions.
