Around 279,000 people in Ukraine’s frontline areas require evacuation

As of now, 279,000 people in frontline areas of Ukraine require evacuation, including 15,000 children and 11,500 people with limited mobility.

Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Riabykin annonced this during a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Currently, 279,000 people require evacuation. Of these, 15,000 are children and 11,500 belong to categories of people with limited mobility,” Riabykin stated.

Since June 1, through 20 transit centers established across Ukraine, 119,969 people have been evacuated, including 14,064 children and nearly 4,000 individuals with limited mobility.

The deputy minister added that Ukraine currently operates 1,111 temporary accommodation facilities, which also host people with limited mobility. Slightly more than 80,000 internally displaced persons are currently staying in these facilities.

As reported by Ukrinform, over the past week, 94 people were evacuated from Donetsk region and resettled in safer areas of Ukraine.
