Russians use about 60% of Shahed drones, 40% of decoy drones during attacks – Ihnat
According to Ukrinform, Yurii Ihnat, head of the Communications Department at the Ukrainian Air Force Command, said this on television when commenting on whether the enemy is using new approaches during its attacks.
"There is nothing new about it, because the enemy continues to attack critical infrastructure, the energy sector, and the gas extraction industry. We see regular strikes, and the western part of our country is suffering, as well as today – the Kyiv region and other regions. They [the Russians] use a large number of UAVs. About 60% are Shaheds, strike UAVs of the Shahed type, and the remaining 40% are, as was said earlier, decoy drones," he said.
Ihnat recalled that decoy drones, including the Gerbera, are also dangerous, as they can carry explosives. He noted that alongside UAV attacks, the Russians launch large numbers of cruise, aeroballistic, and air-launched missiles from various directions.
As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or jammed 349 missiles and drones out of 433 launched by Russia since the evening of October 21.
