Russian army launches simultaneous assaults from four directions on southern front – spox
Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for Ukraine's Southern Defense Forces, said this on Ukrainian television, according to Ukrinform.
"In the afternoon, the enemy began active assault operations along several directions, involving a large number of infantry and armored vehicles," he said.
Voloshyn noted that assault groups advanced simultaneously from areas near Mala Tokmachka, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, and Novoandriivka.
Each assault group reportedly included up to a platoon of infantry supported by armored vehicles.
"In total, we estimated around 200 personnel, three tanks, and about 15 armored fighting vehicles. The enemy also used quad bikes and motorcycles during the assaults," the spokesperson added.
According to him, up to ten combat engagements took place, with several still ongoing.
"The enemy has suffered losses. Several armored vehicles were set ablaze by Ukrainian defenders, and many enemy troops were eliminated, but fighting continues," Voloshyn said.
