Russia attacks power system in Chernihiv region, leaving over 30,000 consumers without electricity
The regional energy company Chernihivoblenergo said this in a Telegram post seen by Ukrinform.
"Unfortunately, another 28,000 consumers in the region remain without power – the enemy has attacked another energy facility in the Chernihiv region," the company said.
According to the utility, repair crews are working to restore power to consumers, but the situation remains critical.
Later, Chernihivoblenergo reported another hit on an energy facility in the Nizhyn district, leaving an additional 2,700 consumers without power.
"Since the evening, power engineers have been working intensively to repair the damage, but it is extensive. We are doing everything possible to restore electricity to our consumers as quickly as we can, though it is not an easy task," the company noted.
On the evening of October 19, Russian forces attacked an energy facility in the Koriukivka district, Chernihiv region, leaving nearly 55,000 consumers without electricity.
