Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries cause Russia more damage than sanctions — Budanov
This was stated by the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, during the Kyiv International Economic Forum, according to Ukrinform.
"In fact, our strikes had a greater impact than sanctions. It's just a mathematical truth. We have caused much greater damage to the Russian Federation through direct action than any economic levers of influence that have been introduced so far. This is also an unpleasant truth, which leads us to the conclusion that, obviously, this is not enough," he said.
According to the head of the MID, the current sanctions pressure on Russia remains insufficient to change Moscow's policy.
“And if it continues as it is, it will not have enough impact to change the Russian Federation's worldview. But in combination with what we are doing, it will give, and is already giving, results,” Budanov added.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of October 16, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Saratov oil refinery.
