Soldiers from the 1st Azov Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine have repelled a mechanized Russian assault near Dobropillia (Ocheretyne sector of the front), having destroyed 16 units of heavy equipment, three motorcycles and 78 invaders.

Azov reported this on Telegram, in a post containing corresponding video footage seen by Ukrinform.

"On October 13, in Dobropillia (Ocheretyne sector), the enemy made a new attempt to conduct mechanized assaults on positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the area of responsibility of the 1st Azov National Guard Corps. The enemy threw 16 heavy armored vehicles (BMP, MTLB, tanks) into the assault," the post reads.

As a result of defensive actions, 9 infantry fighting vehicles, 4 armored personnel carriers, 3 tanks and 3 motorcycles were destroyed.

The assaults were aimed towards the settlements of Myrnohrad and Razine. The enemy focused its efforts on capturing the settlement of Shakhove.

"The enemy's tactics remain unchanged: the initial assault wave of soldiers on motorcycles is followed by armored vehicles with infantry on board. Using electronic warfare systems to suppress drones of the Defense Forces of Ukraine for protection, the convoys intended to bring infantrymen to the settlements, who, after disembarking, were to establish a foothold and then launch offensive operations to capture the specified settlements," Azov noted.

Thanks to preliminary minelaying and coordinated actions by units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine — primarily artillery crews of the Armed Forces brigades, units of the National Guard and crews of the Unmanned Systems Forces — the enemy's plans have been thwarted.

"Confirmed enemy losses amounted to 78 personnel," Azov said in the post.

Ukrinform reported 78 combat engagements have occurred on the front during October 13, with the Pokrovsk sector accounting for more than a third of them.
