Russians strike freight train on Nosivka-Nizhyn route with 12 drones
This was reported by the mayor of Nizhyn, Oleksandr Kodola, on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
According to the official, on October 8, the Russian army attacked Nizhyn, targeting life support and transport logistics facilities.
“The enemy used 12 Shaheds to strike a freight train on the Nosivka-Nizhyn section. As a result of the attack, the railway tracks connecting Nizhyn and Kyiv were damaged,” the post says.
Kodola noted that transportation in this direction is currently suspended. Trains from Kyiv are temporarily running to the Nosivka station.
In addition, the Ukrzaliznytsia Ukrainian Railways storage infrastructure was damaged. A fire broke out in the entire roof area.
No information about injured citizens has been received so far, the mayor added.
As reported earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia informed that train traffic in the Nizhyn direction was hampered due to Russian attacks.
In addition, Chernihivoblenergo JSC reported a Russian strike on an energy facility in the Nizhyn district of Chernihiv region, which left more than 4,500 users without power.
