Ukraine’s air defenses down 83 of 116 drones in overnight Russian attack
According to Ukrinform, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.

From 20:00 on Sunday, October 5, the Russian invaders launched 116 strike drones — including Shahed, Herbera, and other types — from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The aerial assault was countered by aviation, electronic warfare units, drone system operators, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 on Monday, October 6, air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 83 drones over northern, southern, eastern, and central Ukraine.
Thirty strike drones hit targets across seven locations.
The attack was still ongoing at the time of reporting, with several enemy drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.
As Ukrinform earlier reported, in Chernihiv region, Russian forces attacked an energy facility overnight on October 6, causing power outages.
