Russia's war casualty toll in Ukraine climbs by 980 over past day

Russia suffered approximately 1,112,460 casualties in Ukraine between February 24, 2022 and October 2, 2025, with 980 soldiers killed or wounded in the past 24 hours.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine's defense forces have destroyed 11,224 (+1) Russian tanks, 23,296 (+2) armored fighting vehicles, 33,336 (+12) artillery systems, 1,507 (+2) multiple rocket launchers, 1,224 anti-aircraft warfare systems, and 3,790 cruise missiles. The Russian army has also lost 427 warplanes, 346 helicopters, 65,823 (+271) tactical unmanned aerial systems, 28 warships/cutters, 1 submarine, 63,303 (+29) vehicles and fuel trucks, and 3,979 pieces of special equipment.
